It was a rowdy night in Texas as the fans made enough noise to cause communication problems. Both teams looked very good at the beginning and then came the penalties. The more calls the refs made, the hotter Bo Pelini Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach got.

Several times he was yelling bad words at the officials and his players. It’s really hard to stay calm when it seems like all the calls are against you. I don’t recall seeing any sanctions for Texas A&M. Nebraska had at least 19 calls that included multiple personal fouls and even a personal foul from the bench directed at the Huskers coach.

You could tell that in the 4th quarter he had calmed down because he knew he would be fired if he maintained his attitude. The Huskers were tied 6-6 and moving down the field when they were bombarded with penalties which led to the Aggies getting the ball back. It was third and long and the Aggies quarterback throws and misses, the Huskers are cheering but wait, there’s a flag on the play. It’s a late hit from a Husker who had nearly sacked the quarterback. It was a routine hit, there was nothing late about it. This penalty pushed the Aggies forward, allowing momentum to build and they eventually scored the last field goal to lead the game to a 6–9 Aggies victory.

Don’t get me wrong Texas A&M played a great game and I wouldn’t take anything away from them but the refs who called the game off were horrible and made way too many mistakes ranging from clock management, uncalled pass interference and personal fouls that they where called on my opinion just to spite Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini. Because of this, I’m sure Husker fans will feel that the Huskers were misled by the officials.
