Online Casino Sports Batting – States Where Sports Betting Is Legal

Despite the popularity of legal sports betting in the U.S., there are still many areas of the country that remain illegal. In fact, there are a handful of states where sports betting is prohibited. Fortunately, these states are starting to legalize sports betting, and it’s not just Nevada that is taking advantage of the opportunity. In fact, Delaware, New Mexico, and Florida are just a few of the newer states that have legalized sports betting.

Despite legalizing sports betting in some form, not all states have legalized it. Arizona is among the most recent to pass legislation that will allow online and mobile sports betting. However, Nevada and Delaware are two other states that have legalized sports gambling. In Arizona, sports gambling will be allowed in casinos beginning on April 15, 2021. Despite this hurdle, the state is on the right track. Its citizens and sports enthusiasts are likely to be able to wager on all major professional and college sporting events with the help of legal sports gambling.

Despite the many obstacles that still exist, there are several states that are well on their way to legalizing sports betting. While the legislative session in Texas only meets on odd years, momentum from the session in 2021 may help the state legalize sports betting in 2023. In contrast, sports betting is unlikely to make its way to Utah, the only state that doesn’t have a major legal gaming form. Moreover, it is difficult to say whether or not sports betting will ever reach Utah, but it’s safe to say that the future of sports betting in the state is bright.

Although it’s unlikely that the legislature will approve sports betting in California anytime soon, it’s important to note that the journey has been relatively short in California. Assemblymember Adam Gray, who supports sports betting, announced his support for a pro-sports amendment just a few days after the PASPA ruling. State Senator Bill Dodd, who opposes PASPA, joined the movement and planned to craft a bill for the November 2020 ballot. After the ruling, the first hearing for the proposed bill was held in January, but the odds did not look promising for approval. Other states are much more progressive and likely to make a successful amendment.

While Massachusetts is one of the most recent states to pass legislation to legalize sports betting, there are still many others that are still in the process. For example, Illinois has passed a comprehensive gaming bill that will allow online and in-person sports betting. Despite these challenges, Illinois may be on its way to becoming a leading state in the next decade. If they are successful, it could be one of the first states to legalize sports betting in the US.
