If you are not writing articles to promote your products and services on the Internet, you are making a big mistake.

Every time I create a new site, the first thing I do is write an article.

Sure, I need articles for my site (who doesn’t?), but that’s not what I’m talking about here.

I’m talking about writing “long tail articles” especially for submitting to directories.

I write articles that provide a lot of advice for my readers. In fact, my articles are mini-guides that you can print or simply email to your friends if you wish.

Here is the secret of this method. A lot of people don’t know it, but you don’t.

Solve other people’s problems and they will like you. Do you know what will happen when these people like you?

They will be willing to learn more from you and they will also start to trust you.

If your article gives them the solution, or shows them where they can find the solution, your readers will want to know what else you are doing (or should I say selling).

Help them by creating a nice bio box and telling them what they will find if they click the link right now.

Be sure to add your main keywords in your articles as well. Don’t use the broadest keywords, but aim for the long tail.

If you don’t know what long tail is, let me give you an example.

If you’re writing for the “dog training” niche, the keyword dog training is a broad keyword.

If I were to write an article on this topic, I would need a keyword like “How to train your pitbull.” You see the difference?

Your article has a better chance of being found in search engines because there are fewer websites that talk about pitbulls (and this particular long-tail keyword phrase).
