As Seen on TV Fever in an Allegedly Responsible News Market – Part II of II

(Continued, Part I of II)

My immediate people argue “but why would TV stations condone such practices?” and I usually throw “because of the unspoken ethical change in your programming”

TV shows used to be the gateway into the community where they operate, allowing services and businesses to interact and collaborate. Cases of families caught up in the stresses of modern life using television programming to care for their young children are plentiful.

Today, every time these fake ads air, the damage goes viral, and before you know it, you’ve spent money forever. Today, in most places, a class action lawsuit would fit into massive scams orchestrated with the complicity of major television networks. Go online and find out anything advertised that sounds too good to be true and find out how many people are complaining about their scams under “bait and switch” guises.

TV ads would do better stating that “Users must pay for the service to get started,” as such information is not disclosed upfront until you provide your email and date of birth, age, and zip code, feeding them prime information that they will simply use to divulge, with a price tag, your information when someone else is looking for you” is no different from those scams where users believe they are being served while unknowingly building the very substance they intend to work for them… Now you know the trick, still don’t buy the hype? Try it by entering FALSE information so that when they think they “got it” you’re sure that all they have is junk… but wait, they did same Garbage will be given to the next one who comes to “use” the service, as they will be given the information you provided about yourself while pretending to use the service…”GOTCHA”

Knowing the logic and explaining it to others is one way to help reduce the drama about who is looking for whom.

In short: do you suspect that they search for you on Google? Are you aware that by trying to find out who is looking for you, in the same way you are offering yourself to be searched for on Google?

The best way to get online safely and for free is to go slow through all those social networking tools and count once in a while…
