Largest developers collectively present lucrative developments in Ajman for global investors

Ajman is one of the seven Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with Dubai being the most popular. The region’s economy has changed dramatically over the last decade, and along with this, many opportunities for assertive investors.

Proactive developers and agents have sought opportunities in Dubai which, in recent years, have far outperformed the domestic property market in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf region, generating good returns for investors.

Many of these developers are now turning their attention to Ajman. Ajman is the smallest of the seven Emirates with an area of only 260 square kilometers. The largest and main city of the Emirate of Ajman is called Ajman City. Although it is the smallest of the Emirates in terms of industry, it is the third most prosperous and is likely to continue to grow.

Ajman was the third of the UAE Emirates to allow foreign freehold ownership, which has opened up the market to a large number of local and foreign property investors. This opening of the market was encouraged by the ruler of the Emirate Sheikh Rashid Al Nuaimi. Like Dubai, this had the effect of increased interest in and demand for real estate in the region.

This in turn has seen the start of a large number of real estate developments in the region. These will mainly be located along Emirates Road in an area known as New Ajman. These will include Emirates City, Al Zahora City and Awali City, where Portmill Estates is currently promoting off-plan properties.

The less mature Emirates within the region are now experiencing massive growth and investment, as seen in Dubai in recent years. Ajman is at the forefront of this next wave of economic growth which has created another great opportunity for investors to profit from the Gulf region.
