NFL Odds 2010 – NFL Betting Tips

I haven’t had much luck with the NFL office funds this year. I’m practically in the last place. There were a million formulas for the way I picked teams. They all did it wrong. Watching Sunday Night Football Highlights, all my losses seemed to happen in the same way. The team he had picked would throw and intercept and lose while the other team returned it, also known as a pick-6. This has happened to the best this year, Tony Romo, Brett Favre, Drew Brees, and this week Jay Cutler was the victim of 4 interceptions on the same player.

My results this week were much better. What I did was investigate turnovers. I thought it was weird that San Diego has the best offense and defense in the league but for some reason can’t win football games. Herein lies the answer…. Turnovers. San Diego has one of the highest turnover rates in the league. Fight that with the New York Jets and you’ll soon understand why. Jets vs. Chargers, as good as it sounds, is a pretty lopsided matchup. My record this week was 10 wins 3 losses. With a week of games coming up, I hope to apply this theory again. I see some underdogs that have a better turnover percentage than the favorite. If I was a real punter I would jump on these. You can also investigate and find the hidden Jewels once you get the hang of it, it’s quite easy.

For other football seasons this may not have worked as well. But for me looking at pure results is much easier than looking at Turf vs. Grass or local versus visitor. You can view the Points from the average points for the points versus the points allowed. However, that will only get you so far. Not to mention, I can tell you from experience that formula only works less than 50 percent of the time. The ability to hold on to the ball is not something that requires deep looks and mathematical equations. The fact that a quarterback is more likely to throw it to the wrong team or the opposing team has the ability to catch and return an intercepted pass is pretty simple. And for that you can ask Brett Favre or Jay Cutler.

To prove my point, take a look at the Jets. Yes, they are a good team. However, in a Mark Sanchez vs. Drew Brees matchup, I’m sure many would have jumped at the chance to draft Drew Brees or Tony Romo. The simple fact is that Mark Sanchez has turned the ball over to fewer teams and his team has the better record. His Defense has done a better job intercepting unsuspecting QB’s and unsuspecting fans. Right now they are still the dominant team in the League.
