Pike eat whatever they can get their hands on.

Pike eat everything in lakes and lakes, from trout, perch, and roach to smaller pike. Sometimes if you catch a pike you may see another pike come up and grab the one you are reeling in your line. If you still have the pike that you had on the line, you will see that a piece of it came off the back or the ends. This happened to me a few times fishing in Ireland. Pike are the largest predators in Irish lakes and lochs. They grow very large in Ireland, growing between 3lbs and 35lbs, with about 40lbs caught over the years. One of the best fishing spots in Ireland is Lough Acalla in Galway, I have caught over 30lbs of pike year after year spinning and flapping to death.

Ways to fish for pike

There are several ways you can catch pike, from reeling to spinning, fly fishing to dead baits. If you go fishing for trout all the time, you are sure to come across a pike. There is no season for pike fishing, you can catch them throughout the year. In the winter months I would prefer dead bait, and the spin works pretty well once you have gloves on your hand. Pike move around lakes and lakes in winter in search of food because all the smaller fish hibernate. Spinning is great year round, there’s nothing like a 30 pound pike grabbing your rod when you don’t expect it. You get the trill of a lifetime and a good fight. Pike love to catch fish that move through the water, it’s what they do best.
