Proform Treadmill for Running: 3 Great Options

Looking for a good Proform treadmill for running? Proform is one of the most popular and well-known treadmill brands.

They are known for making sturdy and affordable treadmills for beginners. But they have also made several highly rated treadmills for runners.

These treadmills are built with stronger motors, longer belts, and higher machine weights for stability—everything runners need in a treadmill.

So, without further ado, here are 3 different Proform treadmills for runners with a brief summary of each one:

#1 Proform Pro 5000

This is a solid mid-range treadmill that goes for just under $1500 with a monster 4.0 HP motor and an extra-long 60-inch belt.

It folds up and out of the way with a locking mechanism to keep the platform in place. You get up to 15% incline and even get a 3% decline to add extra cross training to your workouts.

The Pro 5000 also adds a lot of fun options that most treadmills for runners don’t have. There is a full color console with touch screen web browser. So you can surf the net while you walk, read the latest news or watch YouTube videos.

You also get a free wireless heart rate monitor included with the treadmill to keep you in your max fat burning zone, very nice.

#2 Proforma Pro 9000

This is the next step up from the Proform 5000 model that comes in at just under $2,000.

It adds a slightly stronger 4.25 HP motor, which is ideal for extended workouts or multi-user families. You also get the extra long 60-inch belt here as well for extra running room.

The Pro 9000 also comes with a full-color web browser on the console just like the Proform 5000. But it’s a bit larger, making it easy to see your workout stats, or whatever site you’re browsing.

#3 Proforma Pro 2000

The most affordable of the three treadmills, the Proform Pro 2000 costs less than $1,300 and also received a “Best Buy” award from a leading consumer magazine in 2016.

While you don’t get the multicolored console or web browser of the previous two treadmills, you do get a bright backlit console with a scrolling message board. There’s also a very respectable 3.5 HP motor and an extra-long 60-inch belt.

Other strengths of this treadmill include the iPod dock with speakers, 32 built-in workouts, the iFit LIVE option, and the built-in console fan to keep you cool while you run.

While this isn’t the most rugged treadmill around, for weekend joggers or single-user households, it’s perfect. And it’s super easy on the wallet.

So if you’re looking for a good Proform treadmill for running, those are 3 of your best options. They feature stronger engines, improved cushioning, extra-long belts, and built-in training program tones to add an extra challenge.

Whatever you decide, take your time, weigh your options, and choose a treadmill that you’re excited to use. There are some fantastic treadmills out there! And have fun!
