Samsung Galaxy Nexus deals announced with price and release date

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the end result of months of speculation and rumors surrounding the upcoming Google Nexus Android phone, which was initially thought to be called Samsung or Google Nexus Prime. The new Galaxy Nexus now has deals, prices, and a release date announced at a recent launch event.

This new Samsung Galaxy phone will be the first in the world to offer the latest Android 4.0 operating system, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich, and is a direct upgrade from the previous Google Nexus S model, also made by Samsung.

UK retailers have already released details of their Samsung Galaxy Nexus deals showing this new device won’t be the most affordable at launch, a free handset is likely to cost consumers a whopping £46 a month on rent. of line or for an Initial Cost of £30 which can be connected to the following rate at £41 per month.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus release date has been set for November, which means consumers will get their first taste of exactly what Google has been working on with its new Android update.

The specs are not too far off from the currently best selling Samsung Galaxy S2 with a 1.2GHz dual core processor and 1GB RAM on board, the camera is a 5.0 megapixel unit with LED flash and it is capable of recording Full HD 1080p video clips the same as the S2 and recent iPhone 4S.

Compared to the previous Google Nexus S, the Galaxy Nexus is slightly heavier but slimmer with a total weight of 135g and a slim body of 8.94mm. The biggest difference comes with the size of the main touch screen which is still a Super AMOLED screen like with the Galaxy S2 but has been enlarged to a whopping 4.65 inches.

Other similarities between the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Nexus come with the fast download speeds these phones can achieve via HSPA+ giving up to 21 Mbps, Wi-Fi, GPS, Google+ integration and voice dictation are also available.

The Galaxy Nexus will be marketed in two types of memory, both the 16 GB model and the 32 GB model will be on sale.

So far, three of the UK’s network operators have announced they will sell the new Galaxy Nexus phone, including 3 Mobile, Vodafone and O2; other networks are likely to follow suit soon.
