The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the end result of months of speculation and rumors surrounding the upcoming Google Nexus Android phone, which was initially thought to be called Samsung or Google Nexus Prime. The new Galaxy Nexus now has deals, prices, and a release date announced at a recent launch event.

Compared to the previous Google Nexus S, the Galaxy Nexus is slightly heavier but slimmer with a total weight of 135g and a slim body of 8.94mm. The biggest difference comes with the size of the main touch screen which is still a Super AMOLED screen like with the Galaxy S2 but has been enlarged to a whopping 4.65 inches.
Other similarities between the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Nexus come with the fast download speeds these phones can achieve via HSPA+ giving up to 21 Mbps, Wi-Fi, GPS, Google+ integration and voice dictation are also available.
The Galaxy Nexus will be marketed in two types of memory, both the 16 GB model and the 32 GB model will be on sale.
So far, three of the UK’s network operators have announced they will sell the new Galaxy Nexus phone, including 3 Mobile, Vodafone and O2; other networks are likely to follow suit soon.
