The Different Types of Soccer Cleat Patterns

Soccer shoes may not improve your playing skills, but they definitely ensure that you give your best and give the best performance. There are so many brands that offer all kinds of tacos. The most amazing thing about modern tacos is that they tend to be very colorful and attractive. But aside from looking at the colors and beautiful patterns, you need to make sure you select the perfect pattern to match that playing surface or floor.

Using the wrong type of cleats will not only make your game uncomfortable and minimize your chances of putting in your best goal, but you could also end up getting injured. Below are the different patterns you will find to make it easier for you to select the most suitable pair for your game.

Firm Ground Cleats: Cleat patterns created for firm ground cover any type of pitch that is generally dry in all climates where there are fewer rainy days. They are the standard heels that you find in shoe stores and are accompanied by the letters FG. In this category you will find long narrow bladed plugs and rounded plugs. The rounded ones are better options for wet floors, while the blades are better for drier surfaces and offer general stability. These cleats may also be referred to as hard floor cleats.

Soft Ground Cleats: Cleats typically have rounded metal studs with few points of contact with the ground. They are better for wet surfaces and suitable for areas that receive a lot of rain. The designs are made in such a way that the studs cut through the mud and offer reliable grip even in wet conditions. However, metal studs are not a preference for many trainers due to the potential damage they deal when they run into other players’ legs. You may want to check with your trainer before selecting them.

Indoor Court Cleats – These are for smaller soccer games and are designed for the artificial materials on indoor courts. They feature a flat bottom and flex points or fins that run along the bottom of the short so they stay comfortable and flexible. They not only work well for futsal but other indoor activities as well and may be suitable for firm ground uses as well, although they may not be recommended for them.

Cleats for grass surfaces: Astroturf is a material created to imitate a natural grass playing field and there are cleats designed for this purpose. These soccer shoes usually come with many short and thick studs on the bottom so that they can offer the proper traction from turf surfaces. They come with an extra layer of lacquer that protects them from artificial grass that can be abrasive; therefore, they are brighter in appearance.

You can easily tell the cleats apart by the initials displayed that indicate the surfaces they are made for. You can also use reviews and guides to select the most suitable sports cleats for your use.
