Things to consider before buying a rabbit hutch

Owning a rabbit can be a great joy and just like any other pet, you need to make sure your rabbit feels safe and comfortable in its home. Unfortunately, the cages sold in most pet stores are not practical for the daily needs of rabbits, which is why I am here to help you find the right cage for your pet. Here are some things to consider before purchasing a rabbit hutch:

Size

No matter how big or small your bunny is, they all have one thing in common: they need a lot of space. At a minimum, a cage should be large enough for your rabbit to stand on its hind legs and jump up and down at least three times. Remember, this is a MINIMUM. I highly recommend purchasing a hutch that is much larger than this so your bunny will be comfortable and have plenty of room. You don’t want to be crammed into a room 24/7 where you can only take a few steps each way, do you? Well, neither does your pet rabbit.

Ideally, your rabbit should have room to run. There are many rabbit hutches for sale that include pens; this is an area in the hutch that is open for your rabbit to get some exercise. If your hutch is indoors, I still recommend buying a pen that you can put outside. Rabbits need regular sunlight to receive vitamin D. In addition, they need exercise to prevent stress and weight gain.

Consider the age of your rabbit. How much will it grow? Will it outperform the rabbit hutch you are buying? I suggest you buy a booth that is big enough so you don’t have to upgrade later. You want your rabbit to adjust to its current home. This is where you will feel safe and content. Changing your home could cause stress for your pet.

living place

If you’re looking to provide your rabbit with the perfect conditions and comfort it needs, I recommend purchasing a cage that has three separate areas: an area for eating, sleeping, and exercising (running). The eating area should include a water bottle and food bowl. The sleeping area should consist of comfortable bedding for your pet, and the exercise area should provide enough space for your rabbit to run around and play with its toys.
