American society has at times been filled with controversy over the notion of abortion. Abortion encompasses any accidental or intentionally caused miscarriage or termination of pregnancy. For a long time we have wondered if abortion is morally and legally right or wrong.

Abortion laws differ greatly depending on the state you live in. There are laws that regulate abortion, such as waiting periods and parental notification, that do little, or worse, nothing to restrict abortion. One thing is common to both those who support and those who oppose abortion. Both groups feel they represent a fundamental human rights concern.

Although abortion laws vary from state to state, what is common among them is the fact that performing an abortion at home is illegal. This is done to protect the life of both the mother and the child (the fact that the mother wants to terminate the pregnancy does not mean that she has the legal right to do so). And for good reason: the chance of infection (which could lead to death) is very high.

The fact that there is so much information available on the Internet makes the temptation to do a home renovation even greater. The big problem with this is that just because it’s posted on a website doesn’t mean the information is accurate and beneficial. Some of the information is downright dangerous and will have dire consequences.

Current abortion laws prohibit the act of terminating a pregnancy in the home. Why risk physical and legal harm by even considering such a foolish option as home abortion, when there are so many better options available (ie giving the child up for adoption to a loving couple)? The smartest thing you can do right now is to identify all of your options and (calmly) determine the best path forward.
