5 famous dog stars of all time

Ever since the movie industry flourished in the early 1900s, people have been featuring our beloved canines on silver. They have touched our hearts in many ways. With their incredible human abilities and reactions, they have changed the way we look at our pets. They weren’t just pets anymore, they were part of the family. Dogs have been a stable entity on the Hollywood scene alongside humans, of course. The dog stars who have appeared in major motion pictures have epitomized the perfect dog; obedient, loving, caring, heroic, brave, clean, behave, etc. Even after his death, audiences still yearn for his film so much that their “stage names” are passed on by his own children to carry on the legacy.

1. Rin Tin-Tin

It is the most famous dog in Hollywood during its early days. This famous dog comes from Corporal Lee Duncan, who was a soldier during the First World War. He named it after the French puppet, Rintintin, as a token of good luck to the US forces.

The famous dog made approximately 26 films with Warner Brothers. During his time, Rin Tin Tin captured the hearts of moviegoers and became phenomenal. Each week I would receive 10,000, someone lucky who cannot read. At the peak of her stardom, Rin Tin Tin received the honor of having her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Rin Tin Tin died in 1932, and Duncan arranged for his famous pet to be buried in a pet cemetery in Paris.

2. Lassie

There is no one on earth who probably doesn’t know who Lassie is. This famous dog paved the way for other dog stars who followed her. She was the epitome of the perfect dog. Every pet owner on the planet wanted a dog like her.

She started with a stunt dog. Luckily the original dog he doubled for didn’t want to swim across a river, Lassie jumped in and took all the light from that dog’s spotlight. From there, he continued to make feature film after film after film after film. In the mid-1900s, he became a household name, loved by children and a lover of dogs around the world. With her remarkable stunts, heart-melting scenes, and hilarious antics, Lassie isn’t someone hard to love.

3. Petey

This remarkable puppy abolished the perception, or at least gave the public a new point of view, that American Pit Bull Terriers are wild beasts. Who could forget the little hound that follows a cute gang of kids in the Little Rascals? He appeared in various movies during his time and became famous.

Unfortunately, during the peak of his career, he was never recognized by other dog stars. He never landed a star on the Walk of Fame or was hailed as the greatest canine star of his age, but he is certainly remembered by all who remember him.

There are many conspiracies for his death. One report says he was poisoned, another version says he died of old age. No one knew where he was buried, but one thing is for sure that his children and grandchildren carried on his legacy.

4. Toto

This cute Black Cairn Terrier acted alongside Judy Garland in the famous The Wizard of Oz. Although this girl did not appear for the first time in that movie. He had made several movies before and since then he has captured the hearts of movie enthusiasts.

Overall, he starred in 14 movies. She became Hollywood’s little darling during her time. She would pay more than any other dog star, sometimes even more than her human co-stars. Although this cousin doggy star did not pass her cherished down to her descendants, she nonetheless paved the way for little dogs to shine on the big screen.

5. Beethoven

Saint Bernard has been all the rage during Beethoven’s time. This famous dog ruled the 1990s with the Beethoven film series. American households went crazy over this dog. But it is that Beethoven is made up of several dogs. More than 3 to 4 Saint Bernard dogs claimed the Beethoven name in the film. Although it was Cris who got the name for the first time and starred in the first two films. From that moment on, home and pet owners are reminded again of what it is like to care for and love their pets at the same time.
