Can you lose weight just by drinking juice?

Drinking a drink is quick and convenient, but sugar-filled colas are bad for the figure. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a way to have that comfort and still lose weight? There is a way – drink juice to lose weight.

Juicing to lose weight is very easy. You need a juicer – the Omega VRT330 and Breville BJE511XL are excellent in their own way. Simply cut the fruits and vegetables you know you should be eating into pieces that fit in the juicer and get the nutrients and antioxidants concentrated in your glass.

Juicing to lose weight saves you time. Juicing is much faster, despite the cleanup, than preparing and then eating salads. Concentrate the nutrients. A glass is worth 4-6 salads. Remember though, just as 6 salads would not be a balanced and nutritious eating plan for every day, juicing for weight loss is only one part of the strategy. I should have added protein, dairy, some carbs, and certainly other vitamins or supplements. Talk to a nutrition expert or your health care provider. The juice can be the centerpiece, not the whole feast.

A juice diet is beautiful. A beetroot turns a beautiful ruby color when added to a stalk of celery, a cored apple, and a cucumber (a concoction called “Red Wonder Juice”). A couple of carrots, a sweet potato, and a couple of cored Granny Smith apples make for a bright orange drink. Common wheatgrass is emerald green in color. Those are just three of the possibilities. Try to create the whole rainbow!

Fruits can add sweetness to your vegetable juices. Blend a couple cups of pineapple, two peeled oranges, and a sweet potato for a dynamite breakfast drink. (You can easily include protein powders and other nutritional supplements as desired.) Be careful to cut back on fruit and carrots, as they are high in natural sugars. They increase the calorie count, but more significantly, they raise blood sugar. This can be extremely harmful for people with diabetes or prediabetes.

You can only juice vegetables. Cucumber juice mixed with a bit of mint can be especially refreshing on a hot afternoon. The same goes for a chilled glass of carrot juice.

Dark leafy green mixes (kale, chard, spinach) are super nutritious, but can be a bit bitter. Mix them with apple, sweet potato, or even some ginger root. You can add sparkling tonic water (diet, of course) for an extra kick. Too many flavors and colors look like mud and taste the same, so experiment carefully.

Weight loss has no magic pills, but a juice diet has powerful potions. You can create an attractive, delicious and hearty juice for weight loss any time you want. Summer is the ideal time to eliminate extra kilos with a juice diet.
