Dog Vaccines: The Facts

Bailey is a three-year-old Bull Terrier and is the love of Maruchy Perez’s life.

Maruchy is a singer, and the summer Bailey was born she was working for one of Disney’s ships in Port Canaveral (half her luck, sounds like a great lifestyle!).

Maruchy had researched the breed for two years before meeting the breeder who lived about five hours from where Maruchy lived.

Bailey was born in Brooksville forty miles north of Tampa on July 4. The breeder sent photos of the litter to Maruchy after they were born, and Maruchy chose Bailey among the many photos she received while on the Disney ship.

Bailey went home to Maruchy about nine weeks later, and it was everything Marchy had hoped for. She was a full hand but a lot of fun.

But it wasn’t long before the challenges began. Maruchy noticed that Bailey was very ill, with hives or vomiting or diarrhea or all three. Maruchy repeatedly took Bailey to the vet, who usually gave him cortisone for hives and pills to prevent dehydration.

When she was four months old, Bailey got the rabies shot.

Over the next four months, Bailey went from being an affectionate puppy to a very obnoxious and aggressive dog with BIG teeth.

Maruchy spoke with the vet, the breeder, the animal trainers, and anyone he thought could help. Bailey had gotten so aggressive that at one point it seemed like everyone was saying “put her down.”

Maruchy couldn’t bear it. I was desperate to find a better solution. After another month of living in fear, Maruchy contacted an “animal communicator,” Diane Samsel, who told Maruchy to remove Bailey from the commercial dog food she was taking immediately and to find a holistic doctor. The animal communicator also recommended that Maruchy let the holistic doctor know that Bailey had an “autoimmune vaccine.”

Maruchy did exactly what the animal communicator suggested. She stopped consuming commercial dog food and made a consultation with a holistic doctor, knowing that Bailey was a very sick little dog and determined to save Bailey from a terrible fate.

Bailey showed signs of improvement within two days of completely quitting commercial dog food! Maruchy started her on a raw food only diet and went to see a wonderful doctor who agreed to see Maruchy and treat Bailey. With the guidance of the animal communicator, Maruchy instructed and helped the doctor give Bailey the holistic medications he needed to get back on track.

Maruchy’s understanding of immune autovacinosis is that it is a condition that can arise when the body has received so much poison through vaccines that the body begins to reject one of its own organs. In Bailey’s case, her body rejected her liver. Bailey was unable to control herself and was in a lot of pain, regressing to behavior reminiscent of times gone by when aggression was actively encouraged in bull terriers to fight against. The liver is also said to be the receptacle for feelings, holistically, including anger.

Who is a candidate for the autoimmune vaccine? Basically, anything that lives and has organs that can be poisoned by injecting the so-called “antivirus” into the body. In other words, pets are at very high risk due to the large number and frequency of so-called essential vaccines. And because vaccines are not necessarily given in doses that take into account the size of the animal, small dogs are likely to be at higher risk than large ones. But any dog can be susceptible.

Now that Maruchy has removed vaccines and pet food toxins from Bailey’s system, she is very careful not to expose Bailey to other poisons, including household chemicals.

Wow, what a story! I know these vaccines (not to mention cortisone too) can be harmful and can build up in the dog’s system. I’m surprised it happened so soon with Bailey. With only 8 months! That’s really scary isn’t it? Think about the potential harm an older dog can do when given these medications regularly throughout his life.

When I started my “journey” with my Healthy Happy Dogs site and newsletter, I really wasn’t aware of how important a holistic approach is to dogs. In fact, I had always vaccinated my dogs. But not anymore. The last time I got the reminder letter from the vet that my dogs should get their annual vaccinations, I took them for an exam, but this time NO. And NO more cortisone for my Rottweiler’s skin irritations (which have radically improved since I’ve supplemented him with vitamins).

In fact, I was expecting a discussion from the vet when I said that I would not accept any more vaccinations. But guess that? She said it was OK, the important thing is to take the dogs for a checkup, vaccinations are certainly NOT essential. I could not believe it! Why continually vaccinate a dog when it is not necessary? I was dumbfounded. I’ve done a lot of research and I know this to be the case, but my vet, who has always routinely injected poisonous vaccines into my dogs every year, admitting that it was totally unnecessary, I was dumbfounded.

Bailey’s story (and my experience with my vet) is a very important lesson for you. Now please don’t get me wrong – I am NOT advocating abandoning your vet’s advice – PLEASE ALWAYS discuss your concerns and intentions with your vet. There may be valid reasons why your particular dog may need a particular vaccine (especially puppies). And some jurisdictions have legal requirements for certain vaccines.

But whatever you decide, MAKE SURE you take your dog for a general health check-up at least once a year.
