It always amazes me when I meet a scholar, businessman, philosopher or those who consider themselves, and are considered by others, to be intellectual thinkers but lack simple wisdom like human decency. Some informed or intellectual people can be intolerable with others, arrogant, rude, unpleasant, selfish, greedy, controlling and self-consuming. I think this reflects a lack of wisdom; a person’s inability to be considerate of others, regardless of class, gender, race, and status, reflects a lack of understanding of the power of thought and the unity of the Universe (the word God may be used to describe unity of the universe) . Wise people understand that we are all connected to a source of energy power (God) that is infinite and limitless.

Understanding that we are connected reflects the wisdom of knowing how we treat others directly and indirectly impacts our individual lives. In other words, what goes around comes around, or as some like to call it, the boomerang of life. By comparison, functioning or thinking based solely on knowledge omits the wisdom of knowing or being aware of the unity of the universe. In connection, wisdom with or without knowledge is positive, but knowledge without wisdom can be negative.

The world is just a specification in the vast universe in which we live; wisdom allows a person to see the big picture of life or how connected we are to the universe. Knowledge allows a person to maneuver and succeed in the wealthy and intellectual status range of society. Wisdom and knowledge allow a person with too much humility to maneuver and succeed in the range of intellectual and wealthy status. Being humble and successful at the same time is challenged by the flaw of human nature; the inability not to allow money and power to take control of the mind. Wisdom is important to balance the money and power that comes along with knowledge.
