How to motivate your affiliates

Pay a fair commission fee – For starters, you will attract better affiliates if you offer a high commission rate. Starting at 50% is fair. After all, also consider what the cost of customer acquisition is. Of course, you also need to make sure that you are making money so this is easier to do if the product is digital rather than physical.

Incentivize product knowledge – You want to encourage your affiliates to try your products and buy from you. Some people require that people have purchased their products to become affiliates. This worked very well for the Vitamix Company for years. It might work for you too. If you can identify a super affiliate who wants to promote a specific product, offer them the product for free to encourage them to promote it.

Run regular contests – You can run many different contests, such as whoever makes x number of sales on a specific date will get a prize. Make the prize really nice so your affiliates want to win it. Have contests during the launch of each new product or service; Prepare affiliates for the contest so they are fully trained at launch.

Offer special periods of increased commission rates in the short term – You need to boost sales, only increase commission rates for a short period of time to encourage further promotion of a specific product. You can also offer a higher commission for tall sellers than for those who don’t sell as much.

Encourage affiliates to buy your products – Provide coupons and other incentives for your affiliates to buy your products too. The more they buy and use them on their own, the more likely they are to promote them in a more realistic way.

Offer an excellent marketing guarantee – Give your affiliates great graphics, copywriting so they can create their own special landing pages and everything you can give them so they can market your products to your audience easily and proudly.

Finally, make sure that you always, whether you’re running a contest or not, reward the best-selling affiliates who go out of their way to promote your products. After all, without them, your sales would be much lower. If it was just you and there were no affiliates, you would have to spend a lot more time and money acquiring new customers than if you encouraged and motivated your affiliates.
