If you are wondering how to record video games on your PSP, this will probably help you. The program is Custom Firmware Extender. The new version coming out now is 2.2 which was recently released by Cpasjuste. The new version fixes bugs from the previous version. Fixes the bug that prevented the playback function from working and other previous issues.
Also, the new version has more features compared to the old one. This allows users to take screenshots from XMB or while playing a UMD game, you can also record your gameplay videos and access mass storage. Those are just some of the features of the new extender.
The new version works perfectly only with custom firmware 3.90 m33. Please take note of that.

How to install:
- Download CFE 2.2
- Copy the content to the root of your memory card.
- You can adjust cfe.config. Go to “mso:/seplugins/cfe”.
- Enable cfe_vsh.prx and cfe_game.prx in m33 recovery menu in vsh, game and pops.
- Set the default CPU speed in the recovery menu of m33.
- Press “Note %2B to lower volume” on the PSP to see the available commands. (default settings)
To record gameplay video:
- On your computer, go to the “windowsremotejoy_gui” folder for linux, go to “linuxremotejoy_gui” or then start “start_remotejoy.bat”.
- On your PSP, press the capture button combo (default is Note%2BR).
- Go back to your computer and then in the remote_gui windows press “c” on your keyboard to start capturing the video. Each frame will be saved as bmp in the capture folder. Make sure you have enough space on your hard drive because capturing will take up a lot of your space.
- Next is to encode *.bmps using your VirtualDub. Google it!
