Manana Habit – How to get rid of it

When you are at work, at home, or in circumstances where you can finish tasks, do you always say later or tomorrow? Does the Philippine language always say “mamaya na, bukas na lang” or something similar? Do you often put your main tasks second to doing nothing, fooling around, watching movies, playing games, or just slacking off only to find that you need to rush things to catch up on jobs you haven’t finished yet? If you are experiencing this then you my friend are one of the thousands of people affected by the so called morning habit syndrome or let’s call it “procrastination virus” it is actually one of the main reasons for the loss of productivity. and late departure that could hinder financial or personal growth.

This procrastination virus does not only affect Filipinos, contrary to the Filipino beliefs that our compatriots have instilled in our thinking that this habit is only found in the Philippines. They often said “if you go to America, Japan, Korea, etc., you will always find them on time”, is that true? I suppose not. Actually, this procrastination virus is found all over the world and no one is safe unless they fully protect themselves and get rid of this bad virus.

For many people, leaving homework for later is more of a habit than a desire. It’s hard to start on time, especially if the penalties for being late are things one can probably bear. If you belong to this type of people like me and still want to get rid of your propensity for procrastination, then you visited the right article. Here are some tips to help you overcome this dilemma and become a more productive and reliable person.

1. Plan your schedules – It is advisable to make a list of your schedules and activities based on priority. This will help you accurately plan your schedule and resources. An event organizer or calendar will help you prepare and schedule your tasks so that you can start them at once and finish them on time and have a quality result.

2. Save leisure activities for later: if you procrastinate, do it in a positive way, apply it to your leisure activities. Many people leave their job only to say later, “I’ve got plenty of time anyway, I’ll have some fun and then I’ll make it up.” While it’s good to have fun, sometimes going overboard makes you vulnerable to quick attacks. Isn’t it good to have fun after completing your tasks?

3. Don’t underestimate your tasks: Sometimes procrastination occurs because people underestimate the resources, difficulty, and time spent on an individual task. Usually they would say, “The job is easy, I can finish it in an hour.” The problem is that there are always chances that they can’t, no matter how easy or difficult a task is, it would still take time and resources to accomplish. . If you underestimate a task, chances are you set too little time to do it.

Finally, don’t allow yourself to get too comfortable doing nothing; it will help if you reserve your subconscious alarm every time you are not doing anything. Get this alarm to remind you of things to complete. This will help you foster the idea that jobs done promptly mean extra time to relax soon after. However, even if this is the problem, always remember to allow plenty of time to rest, as this always helps you to think and work at your full capacity. The trick here is not to overdo the break. There is time for rest and there is time for leisure.
