Easter celebrations

Easter is celebrated in many countries around the world. As one of the most important Christian festivals, this joyful time is one of holidays, festivities, and donations, particularly chocolate Easter eggs and flowers. It is a time for families and friends to come together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The meaning of Easter
Easter is one of the oldest and most important Christian celebrations. In commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, this mobile festival is always celebrated on the first Sunday following the full moon, varying from March 22 to April 25 at the latest. During this time, churches and homes are decorated and filled with bright and beautiful flower arrangements, specifically the Easter Lily.

The reason the Easter Lily is the traditional Easter flower is that, according to Christian belief, the lilies sprouted where, in Christ’s last hours of pain and anguish, His sweat fell to the ground. They are used to decorate churches during this time of celebration for his resurrection, symbolizing life, hope, forgiveness, purity and virtue.

Easter has two significant days: Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Good Friday precedes Easter Sunday, where Christians attend mass to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus, followed by family gatherings as a way of giving thanks that Jesus Christ died on the cross for his sins.

On Easter Sunday family and friends will attend mass to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter Sunday festivities often include a large family holiday meal, Easter egg hunts, and the giving of Easter gifts and flower arrangements. The houses are decorated with elaborate Easter themes.

During Lent, a time of fasting before Easter treats is often prohibited, but on Easter Sunday the elders of family and friends have the opportunity to hide Easter eggs in and around the house while generations youngsters begin their search for the hidden eggs. According to Christian beliefs, Easter eggs symbolize the new life, that by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, people receive eternal life.

Easter gifts and flower arrangements.
Since Easter is a time for giving, a bright and comforting flower arrangement is considered the perfect gift from nature. During the Easter holidays, the arrival of spring is also celebrated in the northern hemisphere, while countries in the southern hemisphere, such as South Africa, welcome autumn after a long, hot summer.

Easter flower arrangement styles are both formal and informal, designed with Easter themes. The Easter lily is primarily used as the main flower in bouquets, however other flowers such as daffodils, tulips and hyacinths are also associated with Easter. These beautiful bright flowers are perfect for celebrating Easter and the arrival of spring or fall.

Easter gifts are also given to family and friends during this time. A gift basket is perfect this holiday season filled with all kinds of Easter goodies. Easter chocolates are always a must, as young and old alike can enjoy these snacks, while candles and flowers are used to decorate the table for the big family Easter meal.

There are many reasons to celebrate the Easter holiday season. It is a time to strengthen the unity between family and friends, to join us in celebrating a new life!
