The difference between botanical skincare and organic skincare

There are a plethora of products on the market that claim to be pure and free of harmful chemicals or toxins. There are products that claim to be botanical skin care products, organic skin care products, or holistic skin care products. Many of these products are very similar, safe, and effective, but if you don’t know the difference in the meaning of the terms, you may not be satisfied with the products you choose.

A product can be both a botanical skincare product and an organic one, but not all botanicals are organic. A botanical product is one that is based on plants. Organic products are also of plant origin, although some may also be of animal origin. However, you should be aware that any product may include toxic ingredients unless it is labeled organic. It must be free from harmful chemical ingredients, and the plants used to make the products must also be free from harmful chemicals like pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

Why is it so important to have products that are completely natural and free of harmful chemicals? It is because the skin is capable of absorbing toxins and harmful chemicals through it. Have you seen quit smoking patches or motion sickness patches? These patches use a drug delivery system that delivers drugs into the body through the skin.

In addition to avoiding the use of harmful chemicals, it is easier for the skin to absorb the nutrients and beneficial elements of skin care products when the ingredients are as close to their natural state as possible. Each refining process that a product goes through loses some of its effectiveness and potency.

Often processes such as heating or cooking a product will destroy much of its medicinal value. Organics try to make sure that the products are as whole and intact as possible by the processing methods. They often do not use condoms as many commercial condoms can have negative effects on their health.

If you want to use botanical skin care products, you should know that you are on the right track. You want to make sure you go a step further and select products that are organic, pure, and altered for the best possible skin refining results.
